Thomas von Woedtke (D.Sc., Ph.D.) was born 1962 in Görlitz, Germany, and studied pharmacy from 1983 to 1988 at Greifswald University. Since 2008 he is Program Manager Plasma Medicine at Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology Greifswald (INP) and since 2011 Professor for Plasma Medicine at Greifswald University Medicine, Greifswald, Germany. He is co-editor of the Journal Clinical Plasma Medicine, deputy head of the National German Center of Plasma Medicine, and member of the Board of Directors of the International Society for Plasma Medicine (ISPM)
